Karin's Boots

graphite pencil on paper

Here is my latest entry for Karin Jurick"s weekly challenge. She asked us to try something different so I decided to stay away from paint and stick with pencil and paper.

really nice shading.

Annie, this is a wonderful drawing. Perfect, but not for one moment does it seem like a photograph. I can almost feel the pencil touching the paper and wrapping around the boots. Really an evocative treament for a pair of boots!

Great job here, I like seeing pieces like yours that go back to pencil. Sometimes having just that makes the subject more powerful like yours.

Looks more like pen and ink than graphite. Excellent realism. Great contrasts too.

Annie a very skillfully done graphite, believe me, I wouldn't have responded positively if it were photo realistic - very nicely done!

I came to your blog because of the awesome pencil work you did on the DSFDF boot challenge. Upon looking at your profile photo, I recognize you immediately from another artist's paining of you. Your blue eyes do pop and have a twinkle to them. You're both beautiful.
