John Day Hunting Scene

28"x 22"
acrylic on canvas

Just finished this painting of hunters in John Day, Oregon for a client. It was a bit tricky painting from a small photo and adding in elements to make the background more interesting. The grass was also quite a challenge.

Another beautiful painting! The grass is very effective, really caught my eyes.

I just wanted to mention, I've completely rewritten my last photoshop tip because another artist sent me much faster, easier approach to the darkness correction. Thanks for your visits.

Gorgeous Annie! I'm amazed you did this with a small photo as your source. I also like the new "Cleeki" thing-a-ma-bob you have on your blog.... it's like a little assistant that follows you around.

Great job, I am sure your client loves it. You really did a good job of making the hunter and dog stand out with the hard edges and light/dark contrast.

Great painting Annie, I really like the whole look.
What is that "cleeki" thing for exactly ?

I love it. I will have to point it out to Ron as well. I really think that he'll like it too.
