5"x 7"
acrylic on masonite
There were two things that I particularly appreciated about the current painting challenge from Karin Jurick's DSFDF. First of all, the reference photo provided a new subject matter with a multitude of cropping options. Using someone else's reference photo gives me the opportunity to see through different eyes and broaden my artistic view.
Secondly, I ended up using a limited palette of colors: cerulean blue, burnt sienna, hansa yellow, a little raw umber, a bit of ultra marine blue and white.

It came out really well- very nice palette and love those brushstrokes!
another Annie Salness masterpiece! Love it! I appreciate you listing your colors because I am still learning and consider you one of my inspirational artists!
Great job with this Annie, beautiful color!
Yummy buttery colors! Thanks for including your color palette.
I like what you've done with the place
Beautiful version of the challenge, Annie. Your colors are wonderful - wish I could be so disciplined.
Nicely done...
I wanted to try that challenge, but never got to it!!
You did it very well!!
This painting proves what you can do by using a photograph as an inspiration, and not letting the photograph dictate your every brushstroke. Your colors are wonderful, and really make this sparkle! Very, VERY nice.
gorgeous, I am glad you went in for a tighter crop!
nice colours too, btw
