Elk, Washington

6"x 6"
acrylic on masonite

This is a view from my in-laws' ranch in Elk, Washington.
It is the first painting I posted....
To answer my art friend's question, I don't have any real movement in my right hand...but it's coming!
Done with my left hand.

Annie, it's beautiful. I'm a left hander too. I did learn how to write with my right hand when I was in nursing school so I could take notes without writer's cramp, so technically I guess I'm ambitextrous.

This painting is so gorgeous! Don't give up on your left hand. It's handy sometimes to paint with both!

amazing...you paint better with your non-dominant hand than most people do with their "best" hand! FANTASTIC!

Gros bisous

Thank you very much!

Here's what Martine said:
"My dear Annie, your tenacity, your love for painting and strength of communication that you would be able to paint even with your feet. This desire will win. Right hand, left hand or the other you have the truth, that to give us your inner beauty. the evidence is before me today ... with this beautiful painting.
Kisses"

This is so beautiful, Annie! I am awed by your dexterity. I hope and pray that you are soon feeling 100%. It is so good know you are on the road to recovery. I'm going to browse your blog for previous paintings as I found my way here via Celeste. By the way, you are so pretty!

Brilliantly done with your left hand, well done.
Washington is a beautiful State my daughter lives there and I have enjoyed visiting.
Hope that the feeling will come back soon to your right hand.

Forza e brava!!!
Ciao Graziano

Sorry I write in Italian... it is easier for me to express and the translator often doesn't work well...

Hi Annie,

Welcome back! Once an artist, always an artist. Right hand, left hand, what does it matter? It's the power of expression that makes us unique. Your painting is wonderful!

My husband bought me pastels one year for Christmas. My right hand was in a cast but the desire to try my new toy was strong. I sat at the table using my left hand and in moments, it almost felt as natural as my right. While doing art, it was as though I forgot I was using the wrong hand. To look at the art I produced, one would never know.

So glad you're able to paint again. Its a blessing!

Thank you!
Here's what Graziano wrote:
"This is your picture is really nice!
In my teaching experience I have seen that when someone could not draw what he saw, making paint with his left hand (nondominant) was forced to stop and see better and it could draw in a truly free ... For you who already painting did very well with his right hand, be obliged to work with the left, you will discover beautiful and unexpected things even if they come from a deep pain. Strength and good!
Hello Graziano"

Hi Annie, I can't tell you how happy I am to see that you are painting again. Your painting is beautiful, but more importantly, it represents your triumph over a very difficult challenge. Way to go and keep up the excellent work.
